At the Institute of Biology and Medicine of Stress of Athens, we are committed to a science-based approach to understanding, assessing, and treating stress. As a multidisciplinary hub of research, clinical care, and community outreach, we aim to improve individual well-being and public health through innovative and evidence-informed practices.
Founded in collaboration with academic and healthcare partners, the Institute serves as a bridge between scientific discovery and real-world application.
The initial goal is to promote and disseminate scientific knowledge concerning the biological mediators/hormones related to stress and their interactions with the brain, body, and behavior, as well as their clinical applications.
Another strategic goal is to promote interdisciplinary and international interactions and collaborations between basic and clinical researchers investigating stress.
Providing clinical services and intervention programmes related to stress management as collaboration and communication between scientists from different fields with a common interest in the study of stress, such as neuroscientists, neurologists, psychiatrists, endocrinologists, child psychiatrists, developmental psychologists, psychologists, geneticists, biologists, and others, is crucial.
We are raising community awareness on prevention and interventions related to the effects and management of stress and ommitted to continuing to educate the scientific community on the rapidly evolving scientific knowledge in the field of stress research.
